Policy Associate Sasha Forbes discussed urban sustainability and the connections between TOD and its impact on sustainability as a whole at The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars in Washington, DC. Forbes works on federal, state, and local level transit-oriented development policies and research projects, particularly as they relate to affordable housing, mixed-income housing, and sustainable communities.
Policy Associate Sasha Forbes will address the American Public Transportation Association's State Plublic Transportation Partnership Conference in Chicago on Aug. 16. The conference agenda emphasizes best practices and programs of state associations and state DOTs as well as federal, state and local partnerships for public transportation. Abigail Thorne-Lyman comes to Reconnecting America from our Center for TOD partner organization Strategic Economics, where she was a principal who specialized in regional economic and fiscal impact. Abby had worked with the Center for TOD since 2004, and is now a project manager in the Oakland office.
Policy Associate G. Sasha Forbes was invited Feb. 22 to address a Transforming Communities class at American Univeristy in Washington, DC, on topic of transportation equity and affordable housing. The class is part of the university's Washington Semester Program. The Transforming Communities track focuses on community and urban social change.

Reconnecting America Policy Associate Sasha Forbes will attend the National Housing Conference’s second Housing Communications Network Forum on Nov. 16 in Washington, D.C. The conference will offer an opportunity to listen and interact with expert speakers from the campaign world, who will discuss housing and politics in America – and how housing issues played in the midterm election campaigns.
